Lise and I (Steve) have been breeding and showing Bull Terriers since 1984. Living in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal at the time, we were introduced to showing and breeding by Jan and Elmarie Strydom, who kindly guided us in our early years. We bought our foundation bitch, CH. Sunduza Curio at Stelron from Andre and Doulina Strydom.

 "Curio" was any young novices "dream come true", and turned out to be the "pot of gold" for Stelron.  She still features in many pedigrees today, and her virtues are the hallmark of the Stelron kennel. Every Stelron Bull Terrier (plus 6 Supreme Bull Terriers) you see today can be traced back to her.

Although we have been involved with Bull Terriers for over 20 years, we still consider ourselves to be learning all the time and a small kennel, only breeding for show purposes or to replace breeding stock. I have served for many years on both the Natal and South African Bull Terrier Club, including two stints as Chairman of SABTC.

Between 1995 and 2001 I took a break from the show ring and although we did attend shows on occasions, it was a period where Bull Terriers took a backward seat to business (At one point all we had left was old timers and an average bitch).

Now refreshed, with a rejuvenated passion for our breed, we are on the come-back trail, looking to re-build Stelron Bull Terriers through a selective breeding process and co-operation with like minded breeders both locally and internationally.

Lise has always been my sounding board and it is perhaps her influence and passion for certain virtues that keeps me on the straight and narrow. We continue to discuss the breed in depth and I value her knowledge, reasoning, keen eye and dedication to our partnership in this breed. We are a TEAM!

We have always believed in "quality not quantity", and our pups bring us great joy as we watch them develop, and this is where we get the most pleasure.

TRENDS COME AND GO,

We are both members of the Kennel Union of South Africa, with Lise being a qualified Championship show Judge for Bull Terriers, as well as other breeds. I still prefer to breed and and compete in the show ring.
